Theraphosidae sp chorrillo chica
Species Description
Theraphosidae sp. “Chorrillo Chica” is a fascinating new world tarantula species originating from Panama, particularly the Chorrillo Grande region. Like many undescribed species within the family Theraphosidae, this tarantula is known in the hobby by its locality name until formal scientific classification is established.
The Chorrillo Chica Tarantula is appreciated for its earthy coloration and robust build, typical of many terrestrial New World tarantulas. These spiders often spend much of their time in burrows or sheltered retreats, emerging primarily to hunt passing prey.
In captivity, Theraphosidae sp. “Chorrillo Chica” thrives in a terrestrial enclosure with adequate substrate for burrowing and moderate humidity. Providing a secure hide allows the spider to establish a comfortable retreat and exhibit natural behaviors.
Hobbyists value this species for its interesting locality background and naturalistic behavior, making it an appealing addition for collectors who appreciate unique tarantulas from Central America.
