This is the species that has been sold as G. pulchra for decades and is what we know in the hobby as the black labs of tarantulas.  A jet, silky black, docile tarantula.  Several years ago we sold them as Grammostola quirogai but it caused some confusion for customers and other retailers so we went back to G. pulchra.  Everything sold as Grammostola pulchra in the United States come into the country as Grammostola quirogai. Once genetic testing can be accurately done we will have some answers about what species we have had for decades.  G. quirogai is more dark and silkier black than G. pulchra.
