These millipedes are great for beginners! They are very easy to care for and are more active than many millipedes. They also are active on top of the substrate rather than burrowing so much.

Native of Florida.
Very active on the top of the substrate as adults.
Get about 3 - 4 ½”
Can live 10 years or more!
Habitat needs:
Deep substrate, as deep as the millipede is long.
Ventilation on the top with hardwood pellets.
Can be housed together in groups
Likes to be in temps 72-78
Springtails can be added to help with clean-up, but isopods will compete for their food source.
Food:
Primarily forage through the substrate. Add wood in substrate for foraging.
Feed fruits and veggies once or twice a week. Carrot, zucchini, apples, or cantaloupe once or twice a week.
They will munch on dry fish pellets or dry dog food as well.
Feed dry dog food or fish pellets in a food bowl. Moisten the pellet to soften with water.
Add crushed egg shell for calcium.
Males have a larger band of segments behind their head than the female. Can sex at about 2”
Babies can be left with adults.
Do not dig them out because they are soft after molting and can be harmed.
