FEEDING: These spiderlings are eating hatchling and small red runners that are slightly disabled.  They will also eat small crickets or mealworms.  Prey can be offered that is cut up as well because spiderlings will scavenge.  It is important to remove uneaten food the next day.

HOUSING: This moderately growing spiderling will be good in a 50 dram vial or our flip lid vial for a few molts.  It can also be housed in our 7 oz habitat. https://fearnottarantulas.com/products/square-terrestrial-7-oz-habitat-tarantulas-for-sale

This is a faster growing species that gets adult coloration quite early.  When they are about 1" they look like miniature adults!

Scientific Name: Acanthoscurria geniculata

Common Name: Giant White Knee

Type: new world terrestrial

Endemic Location: Brazil

Adult Size: up to 8.5"

Diet: Crickets, roaches and mealworms

General info: This is an impressive heavy-bodied species that makes a spectacular display tarantula as it stays out in the open most of the time. Of the large, terrestrial spiders, this is certainly one of the most beautiful. These rather bold creatures begin to have adult coloration early on, making them them look like miniature adults when they are still quite young. They are hardy, easy to care for, and feeding time is always a spectacle!
