Description

This species is known to live around 8 years in captivity! They come out together in the early evening. We have noticed this very dark blue to black beetle stays out in the open more during the day than the blue ones do.

These beetles are a favorite in our shop.  We love showing folks the reason "death" is in their name.  When disturbed they play dead in great style! They often come out in the early evening to look for food together.  Keep them in groups for a great display of beautiful armored creatures moving about!
