It is one of the most recognized tarantulas and has been seen on several movies such as Raiders of the Lost Ark and Home Alone. It is a large, heavy bodied, colorful species that is particularly well suited as a display tarantula. This is certainly one of the easiest pets to care for. You can go on vacation for a couple of weeks and not worry about this one! It is quite hardy and low maintenance and is great for beginners in the hobby.
