We receive an overwhelming number of emails, so we ask that you please seek the answer to your question on our Terms of Service page, from the FAQ below, or in your order confirmation email if you have placed an order.   

We strive to give personalized service and answers to questions and have put together some resources below to save you time in waiting for an answer to your question.  We often hear people say that they want to know they are dealing with “real people” when making their purchase.  Let us assure you that the Fear Not team will work together to bring you the best possible buying experience anyone can offer.  What helps us do that is to have customers read the information below before emailing questions so we can focus on providing the service you expect from us after ordering.

The answers to many questions can be found on our Terms of Service page and your order confirmation email (if you have placed an order).

Mondays and Tuesdays are very busy shipping times and it is unlikely questions unrelated to orders going out those days will be answered until later in the week or the weekend.  Once you have placed an order, you may received details about shipping within a day or two from our shipping department.  

Q.  Can I get a female spiderling?

A. When we have sexed spiders, we list them as male or female on our site – otherwise they are unsexed.  When we have raised up a spiderling long enough and found a molt good enough to sex, we list it on our website as female.   Most tarantulas sell before they have grown to a size large enough for us to sex their molts

Q: Can I add something else to be shipped with my first order?

A: You can add another order that will be shipped with your previous order up to 24 hours before the day we ship (not deliver) your tarantulas.  Just choose “add this order to my previous order” as the SHIPPING METHOD at checkout and we will ship all your orders together for one shipping fee.

Q: I forgot to add a freebie to my order.  How do I add one now?

A: See the answer above.  You can add a freebie the same way you would add another spiderling to your order.  An order must be created to ensure a freebie is included in your shipment.

Q: I added more to my order and now qualify for a different freebie.  Can I change my freebie choice?

A: Yes.  Just create another order for the new freebie and in the order note indicate you want to change to the new freebie.

Q: This is my first order and I would like to know what to expect.

Q: What size habitat do I need?

A: Please see the Spiderling Care Guide written by Tom Moran of Tom’s Big Spiders.  This as well as his website and podcasts are a treasure of no-nonsense, nuts and bolts how-to’s about spiderling husbandry and how to raise them up.  You will gain much confidence about raising even the smallest of spiderlings after reading the guide and listening to his podcasts.  You can download it from here:  https://fearnottarantulas.com/product/tarantula-spiderling-husbandry-tom-moran-toms-big-spiders/

Q: When, what, and how often do I feed my spiderling?

A: Please see the above references for added details.  Feeding appropriately sized crickets or roaches once or twice each week for small spiderlings is just fine. We feed spiderlings the weekend before they ship

Q: It is very cold (or hot) where I live.  Do you ship in cold (or hot) weather?

A: We utilize special Polar Tech boxes that do a great job of protecting the spiderlings during their journey.  We may require that shipping be to a FedEx center so your order is delivered to a climate controlled area as early as possible if temperatures warrant it.  It is important to open your box up as soon as you get it to remove the heat pack.  After picking up your order please keep in mind that the box should not be left in a hot or cold car. 

Q: What is required for the live guarantee?

A: We guarantee live delivery even in the case of a CARRIER DELAY.  Most others advertise that they are not responsible for deaths caused by carrier delays.  It is important that your package is picked up at a FedEx center within 2 hours of it being available.  Any issues with spiderlings must be reported to us within 2 hours of being delivered or picked up.  Even if the spiderling just does not seem to be moving right,  please email us and let us know.

Q: What size habitat comes with the Complete Package?

A: The size habitat depends on the species you order and also how we have to pack your box.  We guarantee it will be large enough for your spidelring for at least 8 weeks but most species will not need to be rehoused for 3 months or longer.  

Q: What is required for the 30 day guarantee to be in place for spiderlings purchased in the Complete Package?

A: Just follow the guidelines for delivery.  If you do not pick up your package within 2  hours of it being available, then the 30 day guarantee will be void.  If you are not home (for home deliveries) for the first delivery attempt, then the 30 day guarantee will be void.

2. If you use a habitat other than what we provide or add something we did not provide to the habitat, the 30 day guarantee will be void.
